Karma, a professional Rocket League gamer in Twitch, made the headlines on June 28, Sunday. She claims that she was struck by lightning while in-game during a live stream. Now, Karma said that she may be experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and was now afraid by the 'loud noises' in the game, all due to the accident.

'PTSD' after playing video games?

GameRant reported on Sunday, June 28, that 27-year-old pro gamer Jaime 'Karma' Bickford experienced a life-threatening accident in the middle of her game that night.

In a Twitch live stream titled "Salt Mine II Shareiff vs Taroco," pro gamer Karma was seen playing a Rocket League video game, that started at 33 minutes and 40 seconds in the video. In the middle of her game, Karma suddenly made sounds like she was in pain and whimpering echoes. It was heard by the viewers, and they immediately asked about Karma's status.

Despite the accident, the professional gamer still continues the game. She only said that "Sorry guys, I am a little bit upset right now," she says, "I'm completely fine. I'm just kinda-I got scared. And also, my hand burned a little bit."

A day after this, she posted on Twitter that she was struck by lightning through her gaming controller, during the live stream.

The tweet was followed up by another tweet saying she talked to a doctor, said that her hands are burned, and her used controller at the time of the accident was damaged. Karma claims that she may be electrocuted since a heavy storm with lightning was seen around her neighborhood in Boston.

TMZ interviewed Karma, wherein she detailed her experience during the lightning struck.

"I was just commenting over this game and then a huge flash came out of my controller, like really bright. I just remember my hands burning and my body just automatically dropped the controller," said Karma.

She said that her hands were sore for the next two days since the unfortunate accident.

Does Karma have PTSD?

Aside from the misfortune lightning struck, she also claims that loud noises from her games now scare her, just like a PTSD-like disorder.

"I definitely had PTSD about it the day after -- just loud noises scared me. There were still thunderstorms the next day, so I didn't want to touch the game just 'cause it freaked me out," she said.

To clarify, Karma is not ending her career due to the lightning struck incident. For now, though, maybe she needs rest.
