In the midst of a pandemic, a lot of businesses, gatherings, or events were already canceled. The Oscars 2020, 74th Annual Tony Awards, Game Developers Conference and other important gatherings were either postponed or totally canceled until 2021.

The list goes on and on. And Amazon's much-awaited 'Prime Day' adds to the long list.

On Thursday, July 2, Amazon advises all its third-party sellers that the online store's biggest shopping event would be postponed until at least the month of October, CNBC reported.

Amazon sellers are told via email that Oct. 5 would be the 'placeholder date' that Prime Day would be. However, up to now, this date could still change.

"A definitive date will be announced as we get closer to the event," the email states. "We are looking forward to seeing submissions that offer the most delight to customers during one of the biggest shopping days of the year, Prime Day!"

Amazon, however, added: "We have not made any announcements regarding Prime Day."

Why is 'Prime Day important?

If you're a regular customer of Amazon, you would know exactly why 'Prime Day' is so special.

Amazon Prime Day, which started in 2015, was normally held during the month of July. It was first pushed back to August. Then in September, now proceeds to October.

This event has been an annual thing for the store, and every shopper awaits this to happen. During Prime Day, shoppers are indulged with huge discounts, Amazon-made products, and showcases an increase in sales of the store.

Though Amazon has not yet officially announced this cancelation, it was already expected that this may be their decision, given the troubles of shipping and transferring products from places to places during a pandemic.

Here comes 'Fallout' TV series

In line with the Amazon news, Tech Times reported earlier Friday, July 3, that its Amazon Studios will be making a 'Fallout' TV series published by Bethesda Softworks.

This show focuses on a post-apocalyptic video game franchise that began in 1997.

"Fallout is one of the greatest game series of all time," Nolan and Joy said in a statement. "Each chapter of this insanely imaginative story has cost us countless hours we could have spent with family and friends. So we're incredibly excited to partner with Todd Howard and the rest of the brilliant lunatics at Bethesda to bring this massive, subversive, and darkly funny universe to life with Amazon Studios."

Just like they say, you can't have it all. You have 'Fallout,' you lose 'Prime Day.'
