[Product Review]: How OnePlus TV 55U1 Beats Any Other Smart TV in the Market

Since we are all in a fast-paced technology, Smart TVs are also on the move in making a name as one of the in-demand smart gadgets at home. And one of these brands who's been making a move is OnePlus, which makes the market remarkably more competitive. The company will hold an event in India to see One Plus' new entries that offer an aggressive price and features. OnePlus is tying now with Xiaomi and Vu.

Over the course of two years, Xiaomi's Mi TV series has been the target to beat in India, with the manufacturer dominating the online category. This is down to the fact the Mi TV series offered incredible value, and OnePlus is now following the same strategy. After the launch of the OnePlus U series, there have been some issues worth fixing. However, the company is now positioning elegant design as a standout feature on their latest releases to fix some problems. Now, let's have a look at the OnePlus TV U1, and whether it can beat Xiaomi.

The Display and Design

The design is now the standout point for OnePlus with its U series. It has a slim design with just 6.9mm, and its bottom is only one-third wider as it houses all the internal components and the ports. Overall, the TV looks just as premium as other huge competitors but comes at an affordable price. One of the standout features it has is the carbon fiber pattern at the back, which covers the lower one-third at the end where the internal hardware is housed. This stunning design gives a cleaner look. And the cleaner design, the more premium it looks with also having that metal finish and bottom bar.

The OnePlus TV U1 has a 55-inch 4K LED display with HDR10+ and Dolby Vision and has trimmed the bezels around the panel. And the panel has 93% DCI-P3 color gamut and OnePlus' Gamma Engine that deliver a crisp image, dynamic contrast, anti-aliasing, and noise reduction. This also gives a smooth video playback that decreases the latency to 22ms. This is a definite leg up over what Xiaomi has to offer in this aspect.

The Performance and Features

The OnePlus' UI is what you would get on any Android TV. On top of this, it has an Oxygen Play, which is the source for the 15 different providers like Prime Video, Netflix, Voot, etc. It has a Chromecast built-in that could also get a data saver mode, kids' mode, and the OnePlus TV Connect. This OnePlus Connect offers a host of features that let the user enjoy TV much more accessible by allowing select shows to play right from your phone's keyboard instead of the one on the TV.

The newly released OnePlus U series TV will be offering a premium experience compared to its competitors, which makes it a worthy purchase. OnePlus has successfully brought the premium experience from the Q series down to the U series and made it more affordable, giving the consumers more options to choose.
