Today, June 16, the official result of the investigation of the Shake Shack alleged 'tampered drink' is now released by the New York City Police Department's Manhattan South investigators. The fast-food restaurant was accused of harming three NYPD officers, that were tasked for protest detail in the city. The policemen were reportedly served with drinks that had bleach in it. All these allegations, however, were found false.
NYPD Police accused Shake Shack of tampering drink with bleach
Monday, June 15, local reports said that three officers from NYPD were hospitalized after drinking a beverage from a famous fast-food chain, Shake Shack.
These three officers were in charge of 'protest detail' amid the 'Black Lives Matter' protests happening all over the United States. When they took their break from their shift, all of them decided to eat at Shake Shack. One of the officers claimed that an unfamiliar substance was put inside their drinks. He claims that it was 'bleach.'
It was not immediately discovered by the police officers, not until it took effect on their body, narrated by the Police Benevolent Association (PBA) of the City of New York, organization that represents NYPD policemen.
PBA even advises all the police officers to be vigilant with anything they eat or drink from public places.
"All PBA members are advised to carefully inspect any prepared food item they purchase while on duty for possible contamination," said PBA President Pat Lynch. "Whenever possible, take meal in groups of two or more, and remain vigilant for the duration of the meal period."
He added: "We cannot afford to let our guard down for even a moment. As always, look out for each other and remember our primary mission: everyone goes home EOT."
At the time, Shake Shack had not yet released any statements regarding the issue, pushing the idea that they were hiding something. However, the team that investigated the crime scene believes otherwise.
'No criminality' against Shake Shack
Fox News reported that the investigation team finally released the result of the Shake Shack incident and confirmed that the establishment had 'no criminality' in it.
This means that the allegations were false and that no staff from Shake Shack deliberately put anything inside the police officers' drinks.
The lawyers of the NYPD police officers have not yet released any statement regarding the result.
