Last week, rumors were spreading that Atlus is bringing one of its most popular games, Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4 Golden, on PC via Steam. Now, it seems like the rumors are indeed true as Steam has announced that the Japanese role-playing game is now available on the platform.
The First of the Series
According to a report by The Verge, the port is the first for any mainline Persona game, which was all PlayStation exclusives in the past.
Persona 4 had a couple of spin-off games: Persona 4 Arena, a classic fighting game, and Persona 4: Dancing All Night, which is a rhythm dancing game--and both are available on various platforms.
The highly-acclaimed title from Atlus was initially released for PS2 and later on PS3 in 2008.
Years later, in 2012, the expanded version, which is now Persona 4 Golden or P4G to its avid followers, has arrived on PlayStation Vita, adding new characters, dungeons, and expanding the story without changing the gameplay nor the main storyline of the first title.
The most recent game in the series, Persona 5, also had its expanded version Persona 5 Royal quite recently.
Now, fans of the game can finally get it on Steam and play it on their computers.
There are two versions that fans can get: the standard version is available for $19.99 while the deluxe version is available for $24.99, and that includes the digital soundtrack and an exclusive art book.
When the rumors came out, fans of the game were extremely excited, and it showed in the game's achievement just mere days after its arrival on Steam.

Dethroning Final Fantasy XV and Breaking Records
According to a report by VG247, Persona 4 Golden has already broken a record and dethroned Final Fantasy XV as the game with the most concurrent players, excluding massively multiplayer online titles on the platform.
In the forum ResetEra, a user shared a screenshot of the game's stats, saying that at the time it was taken, P4G has 29,984 players, while FFXV, which previously held the record, only has 29,279 players.
Apparently, the player count keeps climbing up as the days pass by.
Why Get Persona 4 Golden
For those who don't know, P4G is a JRPG title that combines dungeon crawling with simulation elements, wherein the players have to build relationships with people in "real life" to help create stronger Personas.
The stronger your Persona is, the easier the battles will be, especially as there are several mind-bending boss battles you'll have to win to proceed.
Besides, there are several endings you can get as there are some choices in the game that can significantly affect the story. Thus the end you might get.
There are also tasks you'll have to do, and you'll have to do all of them within a year (in the game's time), which could pass by quickly, especially if you finish dungeons within a day.
Some days pass by quickly as part of the story, which makes players require a good strategy to finish all the tasks, crawl the dungeons, and build relationships before the story ends.
