The much-awaited Play Station 5 (PS5) was finally revealed to the public today, June 11, by Sony. According to T3's latest report, the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition was also revealed in addition to PS5's launch, together with an official PS5 Pulse 3D gaming headset, HD camera, media remote, DualSense controller, and a lot of launch window PS5 games.

A whole bunch of games, as well as details on the PlayStation 5's DualSense controller, was revealed in an event that lasted over an hour. However, the PS5 price wasn't revealed yet and no official launch date was announced.
T3 stated that the flared and stylized look of both consoles make it look even better, although it looks better if both of the systems are positioned in a vertical orientation.
The games included in the console are Horizon: Forbidden West, which is claimed as the real big player of the newly released PS5 and the sequel to the PS4 game Horizon: Zero Dawn. Other games included are GhostWire; Tokyo, Gran Turismo 7, and Deathloop.
PlayStation 5 specs
According to The Verge's latest report, Sony also revealed the specifications of its PlayStation 5 console. The hardware designed was finally unveiled after teasing it for the duration of its PS5 live event, showing a white-and-black design that matches the new controller.
Just like the Xbox Series X, the Playstation 5 will be positioned vertically. The report also stated that it will include two versions: one with a pure Digital Edition and a 4K Blu-ray drive. Its removal of the drive makes the PS5 variant without the optical drive looks substantially thinner compared to the regular model.
Although there a price hasn't been released yet, the removal of the drive should mean the Digital Edition of PlayStation 5 is cheaper. A stand was for its PS5 was provided by Sony to allow the console for either vertical or horizontal orientation. A separate stand slightly different from the other one is also available for the PS5's Digital Edition. Vents for heat dissipation with USB-A and USB-C ports at the front also appears at the top of PlayStation 5.
The reveal of the PS5 hardware design comes months after the unveiling of the Xbox Series X of Microsoft back in December 2019. The PlayStation 5 will be powered by a custom AMD RDNA 2-based GPU and an eight-core AMD Zen 2 CPU. The report stated that 10.28 teraflops of power using variable frequencies will be provided by the custom AMD chips on both the GPU and CPU.
A proprietary SSD, which provides 5.5GB/s of performance and 825GB of storage will be used by Sony to boost PS5 games' load times. All the games must be installed to the internal SSD to allow the system to use read speeds. A stunning Unreal 5 tech demonstration was provided by Epic Games to show off the loading of dynamic lighting effects and cinematic 8K assets on PS5. 3D audio, 8K graphics, and 4k graphics at a 120Hz refresh date will also be supported by the Playstation 5.
