Two of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater games are officially getting remastered and are coming to newer platforms such as Playstation 4, PC, and Xbox One on Sept. 4. And fans are more than excited about it.
The new Tony Hawk collection is going to be developed by the studio that brought us the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy back in 2017, Vicarious Visions.
Original tricks, soundtracks, and new game modes will be featured!
This remastered collection will include the original levels, tricks, and pro skaters from Tony Hawk's Pro Skater and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2. Newer tricks from even later games like the wall plant, lip tricks, and the revert will also be featured in this version.
Vicarious Visions has said that the first two games in the remastered collection will also feature a large majority of the soundtrack.
When it comes to gameplay, online multiplayer and local split-screen modes are also in the game as well as create-a-skater and create-a-park modes. The create-a-park mode will offer a more robust and strong editor, and players will be able to share with their online friends the parks that they have created.
Jen Oneal, Vicarious Visions' head told Polygon that "Create-A-Park has really evolved from what it was. You are going to have access to a full suite of a skate park pieces: your ramps, your rails, your halfpipe, etcetera. But what makes it so different now and now you actually get to deform the pieces, and you can make any kind of crazy amusement park-like skate park that you want because you're able to manipulate the rails to make crazy spirals if you want."
Next-level graphics revamped menus, and quick reload times
This new remaster will also include updated menus, better graphics, and lightning speed reload times for runs.
Oneal also said that the roster of playable skaters will include Bob Burnquist, Jamie Thomas, Kareem Campbell, Rune Glifberg, Rodney Mullen, Eric Koston, Chad Muska, Elissa Steamer, Andrew Reynolds, Geoff Rowley, Steve Caballero, Bucky Lasek, and of course, the legend himself, Tony Hawk.
"The other thing that we're hearing is people love the memory of being able to do that endless combo line, and so we went a little bit beyond in not just including the tricks that were in Pro Skater 1 and 2, but the additional ones that would allow you to chain together your tricks. So really, it was all about listening to the fans more than anything," Oneal added.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 and 2 will be sporting a price tag of $39.99, digital deluxe version with unique content and in-game gear added will go for $49.99. For the collector's edition, it will be available for almost $100 and will include the deluxe version content as well as a limited-run Birdhouse deck.
These will be available for purchase for Playstation 4, PC, and Xbox One on September 4, 2020.
