League of Legends' North America (NA) server is having problems regarding lobby creation and logins of its players. A report on Dot Esports reported that the coronavirus pandemic has created issues in the game's NA server. And League of Legends' fans who are eager to play the game will have to wait for the servers to stabilize.
"Ranked queues are temporarily disabled while we investigate an issue that's negatively impacting games," said the game's producer, Riot.
Riot announced on their page today that the ranked queues are disabled, and some issues have caused login attempts to fail. One of the reasons for the issue is the dramatic increase of web traffic online.
Players who have tried to create a lobby keep getting an error message. Although they were able to log in after their 10th attempt, some issues are still being experienced during the game.
The North America server is not the only one having problems with the game's lobby and logins. Some players in the European server are also experiencing the same log-in issues and errors when attempting to create a lobby -- even packet losses have also been experienced by some users.
Because the global internet infrastructure is groaning under the increased weight of the web's increase in traffic because of the lockdown, the situation in the League's servers is here to stay for at least the near future.
How can players fix the login issues?
Having log-in issues spoils player's eagerness to play the League's game. Experiencing authentication errors can also lead to a number of other problems. If you are one of these players, you don't need to call for assistance because you can try to fix it on your own.
If the server is down, the first thing you can do is to check the server status. And if that is indeed the case, the only thing you can do for now is to wait. If the server connection is online, then you need to log in again into the League's client and load the game. If the same error message appears, you can try to update and troubleshoot your Firewall. Firewalls sometimes block internet connections that could cause this issue.
Firewalls are not meant to block your internet connection to the game; they only tend to malfunction if they are out of date. To update your Firewall, you can go to your Window's System Security located on the Control Panel and click on "Turn Off" selection.
If updating the Firewall doesn't work, a quick way to fix the problem is to change your DNS settings temporarily. To do this, you need to go to your Window's Network and Internet -- also located in the Control Panel -- and change the adapter settings. The next step is to right-click on your network (either Ethernet or Wi-Fi) and select properties.
Once you're done, select the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) option and then click "Properties" again. The last step would be to change the DNS server addresses by inputting "8.8.8.8" in the first box and "8.8.4.4" in the second box. When you are finished with these steps, you can now load the game and enjoy playing.
