The Direct did not yet reveal which specific character from the popular 2017 fighting game would be included but has stated that the fighter's development is still in need of more time. The reveal, along with the release of this Mystery 'ARMS!' character in the new Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, is expected to surface this coming June.
Nintendo Direct E3 virtual festivities
The reveal is expected to be made public during the Nintendo Direct scheduled presentation for this year's E3 virtual festivities due to the cancellation of the actual event. 'ARMS!' was previously released last June 2017 as one of the very first games ever to be released on Nintendo Switch.
This fighting game allows players to use the newly released Switch's Joy-Con at that time in order to punch and block! The gameplay differs quite depending on the character as well as the fist augments that are called ARMS.
The game hosts 15 characters in the roster, so the choices between which character will be added to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is still quite unclear. Every single character has a unique style and importance, which makes the pick for the upcoming game harder to narrow down.
There is already an 'ARMS!' character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
Spring Man is already included in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as an assist trophy, and it should be noted that this character is the poster boy of the 'ARMS!' game! Well, if Spring Man is able to make the cut, it might mean the first time ever when an assistant trophy became its very own character afterward! Waluigi fans can celebrate if ever this happens
In order to get fans even more acquainted with the current game, Nintendo is giving players a clean chance to try out 'ARMS!' for free but only for a limited time. The offer is only available to Nintendo Switch Online subscribers.
How to get the game
From Thursday, Mar. 26, 12 p.m. EDT until Apr. 6, 2:59 a.m. EDT will be the only time that players will be able to download and play 'ARMS!' absolutely free from the Nintendo eShop.
The series producer/director Masahiro Sakurai has given a revelation that when Volume 2 is done, there are no plans for additional Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC at this point. There are still six additional DLC characters that will have to join the roster since the launch.
