NEW IPHONE! Apple Foldable Phone Won't Happen Soon; Instead, Expect Rollable iPhone

If you think that foldable phones would be the next big thing that smartphone companies will create, Apple says no! The iPhone provider recently answers back to the foldable phone challenge with a way different iPhone design compared to others. Introducing Apple's "rollable phone."

Apple, back then, does not seem to release any reports of its plan on creating their version of foldable iPhones. However, the company now answers back to this challenge with a different design that no person could ever imagine on a smartphone before.

As first reported via Apple Insider, the company has recently patented the 'rollable phone' in the United States Patent and Trademark Office, which was credited by its inventor Scott A. Myers. According to the report, this design would be the solution to the hinge problems that most foldable phones have.

Instead of folding the device, Apple plans to make it into a scroll-like phone that can be rolled out if you wish to use it and rolled up if you want to put it on a smaller compartment.

"In a stored position, the flexible display may be wrapped around a storage roller," explains the patent. "Optional deployment rollers may be used to help deploy the display as the display is pulled out of the housing."

However, unlike the normal scrolls used in Medieval times, Apple's patent design does not have large rollers on the side but just small enough to be seen and properly used by its users.

"A flexible display may be wrapped around one or more rollers," says US Patent No 10,602,623, called "Electronic device with flexible display structures."

Rollable iPhone is not the only plan but can be applied to other Apple devices

Rolling iPhones are already unimaginable by the common audiences, but the company seemed to be planning to do it for all of its famous devices. This was observed when the patent document did not specify which Apple device will get the rollable feature.

What's clear is that Apple said that-- through rollable devices-- the company wanted to address the problems of most users on electronic devices that make it hard to be compact since all of them have rigid structures. This means that the iPhone might not be the only device that Apple plans to go rollable, but even its famous iPad or even its Apple watches.

"The housing may have a single body," continues the patent, "eg, when [the] device is a cellular telephone, tablet computer, wristwatch device, etc... Or may have multiple body portions that are coupled by one or more hinges (e.g., in a laptop computer, a bifold or trifold device, or other devices with foldable portions," written on the patent document.

For now, Apple has not yet released any reports on its plan to release this kind of smartphone soon. At least, we can expect, though.
