The feud between President Trump and Chinese company Huawei is still not done yet despite Coronaviruses impacting the market of both countries. On Thursday, President Trump signed a law that provides financial help to all rural telecom carriers-- that uses Huawei networks-- to replace their Huawei equipment with the country's networks.

Most rural carriers use Huawei networks since they are less expensive compared to mainstream networks available in the market. This is the reason why the government will be willing to give funds to each rural carriers in the country as part of their movement against the Chinese company.

Federal Communications Commission Chairman Ajit Pai called on Congress to "to appropriate the necessary funding to reimburse carriers for replacing any network equipment or services found to be a national security threat."

Aside from Huawei, another China-based company called ZTE technologies will also be part of the banned networks since both of the Chinese companies were rumored to be threats for US national security.

The bill signed by the President can reportedly affect over 2 million rural carriers in the country. For now, the White House claims that all telecom carriers will not be left hanging with this new legislation since funds will be allocated to help their adjustment since the country also pushes the 5G network for all smartphones.

"The administration will not risk subjecting America's critical telecommunications infrastructure to companies that are controlled by authoritarian governments or foreign adversaries," the White House said in a statement.

Why would Trump adjust the Huawei ban, then?

On Tuesday, Mar. 10, Tech Times reported that President Trump had finally adjusted the initial Huawei ban from Apr. 1 to May 15. The reason behind the extension was not clarified based on the sources, but authorities have now explained that this 45-day extension would likely be the time for rural carriers to find new networks besides Huawei.

The issue between the United States and Huawei started when President Trump claimed that this company and ZTE are part of the mission against the country to track military actions.

Huawei still insists that this is not true, and the new legislation would likely be just an "unrealistic attempt to fix what isn't broken."
