As first reported via TMZ, a representative from Warner Bros. TV confirmed that the current season of the famous series would be paused for a while after they had discovered that one of their 'team member' made contact with a confirmed COVID-19 patient.

Warner Bros. TV clarified that the COVID-19 patient is not part of their production team. However, since the virus can be easily transmitted from one person to another, the management has now paused production in order to protect the cast members and other crews.

"We are working closely with the appropriate authorities and health agencies in Vancouver (where they shoot) to identify and contact all individuals who may have come into direct contact with our team member," said a representative from Warner Bros. TV. "The health and safety of our employees, casts, and crews are always our top priority. We have and will continue to take precautions to protect everyone who works on our productions around the world. Out of an abundance of caution, production on Riverdale is currently suspended."

Warner Bros. TV did not confirm the identity of the said 'team member.' This raises the suspicion that Riverdale actors could be the said 'team member.' For now, management tells us that the member is currently under isolation and undergone tests in order to identify whether they should be alarmed for the lives of their other actors and crews that had close contact with the person.

The management also did not explain whether the production will still be continuing for the next days or months.
