If you're a fan of Cartoon Network and had watched one of their classic action-themed cartoon Samurai Jack, listen up! The company, CN, currently released its official game trailer of Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time-- a 2020 action video game coming this summer.

Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time: Next video game to watch out on PC, PS4, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch

As exclusively reported via IGN Southeast Asia, Adult Swim Games and Japanese game developer Soleil Games will be releasing a brand new video game soon on the market named Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time. This video game will be out on the market by Summer 2020 and can be played on multiple platforms like PC, PS4, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.

For those Cartoon Network fans out there, you would know how exactly awesome it is to find out that one of the top cartoons back in 2001 to 2004 will now be having its own action video game wherein you can be its main player.

According to IGN, "Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time is set before Jack's final fight with Aku, an evil entity that trapped Jack in alternate timelines throughout human history. Jack will have to fight through several different timelines to reach Aku and defeat him."

As a player, you will be responsible for guiding Jack on winning against obstacles on the game and reaching Aku to stop him with all his evil plans on multiple different timelines.

The gameplay of Battle Through Time will combine hack-and-slash gameplay that also allows players to use different kinds of weapons like "melee and ranged weapons."

Interestingly, the video game will remain the 3-D cartoon design style of Genndy Tartakovsky's Emmy Award-winning animated series-- so you don't need to worry about too many changes in its design.

Series head writer Darrick Bachman wrote the script of the game-- that will also join Tartakovsky at PAX East for Adult Swim Games' panel on Friday, February 28 to talk about the details of the game.

2004 PS2 video game called Samurai Jack: Shadow of Aku featured real voices of actors from the series-- but had terrible reviews

For people that do not know the history of Samurai Jack, this animated series had already had its own video game back in 2004. It was titled as Samurai Jack: Shadow of Aku that was developed by Adrenium Games and published by Sega.

Back then, the game looks great, and it had a huge advantage since it featured real voices of the actors from the animated series itself-- like Phil LaMarr, Mako Iwamatsu, Jeff Bennett, John DiMaggio, and Jennifer Hale. Despite these, the Shadow of Aku flopped in the market when gaming companies did not like its output.

"The game lacks depth, style, or technical polish essentially ruins whatever chance it ever could have had to appeal to anyone outside of the most diehard of Samurai Jack fans," said Alex Navarro on GameSpot in 2006.
