Disney and Fox's Merger Resulted in the Co-op Alien Game to be Cancelled

For fans of this franchise, this news may be quite disappointing as the battle between Disney and Fox's merger takes place against the supposedly upcoming co-op Alien game. Sadly, Disney and Fox's merger wins, and the game is canceled. Legalities have gotten the better of the game, and sadly, the cancelation had to happen for Disney and Fox's merger to take place.

The merger put the development of this game to a complete halt

According to 3D Realms, the studio in charge of development for this game, the unfortunate cancellation of this game was sad news but not much of a shocker. Although a lot of efforts have been put into making this stellar game, sadly, there will not be any releases of this game for fans of the franchise to expect. The details were already revealed to the public through Twitter, but because of this merger, the Alien co-op game will not be happening at all.

Alien game would have been called Aliens: Hadleys Hope

There was already a title for this game, and fans have to admit that it does sound quite interesting. Aliens: Hadleys Hope was the final name for the game, and although the development had already reached the pre-production stage, there is still nothing else to be done. A lot of effort has been poured into this game to make it better for fans, but sadly, all of these efforts have gone to waste.

Alien game would have had a four-person co-op gameplay

The Alien game was supposed to be a game that could bring friends together with four-person co-op gameplay to make sure that a group of people could all have fun together. There are very few games nowadays that are created with the goal of bringing people together, and this would have been the advantage that the Alien game would have had if ever they were able to release their game.

The future looks gloomy for the Alien game

Although there is still a slight possibility for this game to be picked up someday, the chances of this happening are close to none because of the recent merger between Disney and Fox. There is nothing fans can do to change this decision because the merger was more important for the two companies. Although the game was collateral damage to the merger, fans of the franchise still cannot help but wonder what an awesome game it would have been.

The merger affected the game's production because of a conflict of interest

Because of the newly merged companies, there are certain projects that should be prioritized, and although the Alien co-op game would have been quite a success, it is not the priority of these two merged companies. The battle between Disney and Fox's merger was a short one, and sadly, the Alien co-op game lost.
