Zombies Ate My Neighbors Turns into a First-Person Shooter Game with Doom Wad

The 1993 16-bit game was a huge success in its own way and has even been an inspiration for most modern games today. Even Minecraft has some similarities with Zombies Ate My Neighbor, and now with the Doom Wad, we can see how Zombies Ate My Neighbor transforms into a First-Person Shooter game!

First-Person Shooter games had a slow but interesting rise to mainstream

Back in the day, arcade games had limited capabilities because of the development limitations caused by the lack of technology and innovation. Slowly as technology has picked up, First-Person Shooter games started to become more advanced like call of duty and counter strike taking this platform to a whole new level. With experimentation and a keen eye to developing and refining better games, developers were able to make first-person shooter games a mainstream hobby shared by gamers around the world.

The early success of Doom and Zombies Ate My Neighbor, have shown the possibility of this genre taking off in the early days and although they were not technically the first games using an FPS platform, they were most certainly the most popular. There have been countless hours spent just to refine this genre, and it is slowly becoming bigger than ever before!

The beauty of first-person games is how straightforward the approach is

For people who are not yet die-hard gamers, the FPS genre is certainly something that they can easily adapt to because of how straightforward the game is. Basically, all one has to do is shoot and kill the enemy! Compared to other genres like the RPG or role-playing game genres, FPS does not make players adjust too much to the controls and complicated gameplay with different schematics for every action. In fact, most FPS games are very direct, so even if it is your first time playing, the player can learn right away how to navigate through the game and win!

A demo version for the Doom and Zombies Ate My Neighbors were released last year

It was already previously released but has kept itself on a down low for only fans of FPS to find out. Not everybody enjoys classic games because of how they started late, which is why the demo works as a hidden gem for people to find out. The unfinished merge of these two games sees itself with mainstream success if it can pull off on the nostalgic strings of true gamers

More demos to come sometime soon

Although there have not yet been official announcements circulating this merge, there are still a few reports giving updates on the movements of this game and so far, we cannot expect that the complete Doom wad for Zombies Ate My Neighbors to come anytime soon. Well, there really is no official statement which means that fans would just have to hope that it does come sometime this year.
