TCL, a China-based multinational electronics company, is no longer a rookie in introducing foldable phones from the past. However, a new set of leaked images obtained exclusively by the CNET website had revealed that TCL has been cooking another model of a foldable phone that might solve the issues on foldable phone creases.

No way! TCL's new phone looks nothing like your ordinary foldable phone

On Monday, Feb. 17, CNET exclusively shared the pictures of what seemed to be the next foldable phone model of TCL. According to CNET's Jessica Dolcourt, TCL is creating a new phone prototype that has an expandable and slide-out display, which is uncommon compared to the recently released foldable phones such as Galaxy Z Flip and Motorola Razr.

It was scheduled to be first shown on the Mobile World Congress or MWC in Barcelona, Spain. However, due to the health issue of Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19, the said event was postponed and canceled as TCL, and other tech giants decided not to attend the said event.

However, CNET luckily obtained images from their 'trusted source' and did reviews on how this TCL's new foldable phone can compete with other leading foldable phones-- mainly if we talked about creases.

TCL's new foldable phone has no issues of creases

CNET clarified that they did not know anything about TCL's new foldable phone, aside from what the images showcased. However, the phone looks a little thicker compared to standard phones, and TCL's rumored main objective with the device seemed to be compared with a standard 7-inch screen phone but can be turned into a tablet after pulling out the screen.

The images also showed that the new foldable phone has one continuous display and curved screens on either side of the smartphone. The right side of the phone is also said to be slimmer than the left in order to allow an easier sliding for the phone.

Since it has a rumored slide-out screen design, CNET added that the device might have achieved what other companies did not: a foldable phone without crease that allows it to be bent without any complications or worries of breaking the screen.

TCL already released a foldable phone from CES 2020 called TCL 10 Pro. This device costs $500 and looks extremely beautiful and identical to the Galaxy S10.

As of now, TCL has not yet released a comment about the images shown by CNET and whether the prices of the device is the same as the TCL 10 Pro. For now, we need to wait first.
