According to DigiTimes, Apple is rumored working on several upcoming products, including iPad, Apple Watch, iMac, and "AirPod Pro Lite," along with supply chain partners in Taiwan amid fallout from the new Coronavirus. Apple has faced a difficult situation with regards to production, which forced them to shut down all stores and offices in China.
What are AirPods?
First released in 2016, Apple's Airpods skyrocketed as users quickly purchased the wireless earphones making it the company's best product yet. It has also been vastly known for its sleek design, simple controls, great battery life, and quick charging, easy connectivity to Apple devices, and wide range Bluetooth. Looking at the product, it is identical to the EarPods that Apple has been selling, but without the cables attached, which come with their own pocket-sized charging docks or cases.
Difference between AirPods 2 and Airpods Pro
Even though there is a huge gap on the price tags, which the AirPods 2 are on sale for $159 and the AirPods Pro for a whopping $250, there are quite some good and unique features on the latter which includes an all-new design, active noise-cancellation for Apple users to enjoy. The AirPods Pro now has noise-canceling features on these new wire-free earphones, which is very convenient for those who want to just get on with work or with their day without having to hear background noises on their listening device.
When it comes to the battery life, the AirPods can go for as long as five hours of battery plus 19 more added by the charging case while the AirPods Pro can only go for 4.5 hours plus 19 more added by the charging case, but users are required to turn off noise canceling to get the maximum battery life on this device. As for its connectivity and controls, both tie in this category as there is not much of a difference when it comes to using and connecting this device. But as sound quality goes, the AirPods Pro packs a punch compared to the second-gen earphones, which has been sporting artificial bass and treble enhancements. AirPods 2 are richer, fuller, and clearer with or without the noise-canceling feature turn on.
Whether DigiTimes' claim about this is true or not, is pretty much unclear as they are also known for being unsuccessful in forecasting future products. Only time will tell if Apple is indeed working on developing new products with Taiwan while being in the middle of the virus outbreak. It is advised that avid Apple users out there should look out for the company's announcements regarding this matter while it is only to be rumored at the moment, but without a doubt, if there is some truth to this device being worked on, "AirPods Pro-Lite" could also be another reason for Apple to elevate their name more when it comes to technology development.
