Pokemon HOME is a cloud-based subscription service for Nintendo Switch, Android, and iOS devices. It is designed to link the same Nintendo Account to both the Nintendo Switch version and the mobile version of Pokemon HOME. Players will be able to access the same Pokemon Boxes on both versions.
Pokemon HOME allows players to store caught Pokemons across various other games. Two versions of this have been released this year: Nintendo Switch app and mobile apps on compatible devices.
Using the Nintendo Switch version:
In this version of Pokemon HOME, players will be able to store Pokemon from games such as Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee and Pokemon Sword and Shield all in one place. Also, on this Switch version, it will allow users to exchange PokemonHome Points for Battle Points.
Using the Mobile version:
This version gives players the ability to trade Pokemon with other players using various types of trading options. The mobile version also gives out more detailed information about a Pokemon compared to the Nintendo Switch version as well as new updates and Sword and Shield competitions.
Here, a player can see a Pokemon's base statistics using this new feature called the Judge function, which will be available on both versions. Players can have free access to Pokemon Bank for a month after the launch of Pokemon HOME, which is already live. An update for Pokémon Bank has been released, which makes the 3DS app compatible with HOME. You can link it via the password system if you don't have a Nintendo account.
Pokemon HOME has both free and paid tiers like Moving Pokemon from Pokemon Bank, and Judge Function will only be available for Premium subscriptions. At the same time, other features such as the number of Pokemon that can be deposited varies from 30 for free and 6,000 for Premium users. This also applies to the number of Pokemon that can be placed in the Wonder Box at once, Number of Pokemon that can be placed in the GTS at once, and Room Trade. One month of Pokemon Home Premium costs $3, three months is $5, and 12 months is $16.
The app will also introduce a brand new Professor Oak with long hair and glasses called Grand Oak. Aside from this, Players that own Pokemon HOME on the Nintendo Switch will be gifted a Pikachu. Though the mobile version will let users pick between Charmander, Squirtle, and Bulbasaur, which comes with a hidden ability on The Kanto starter that they pick. A disclaimer for all users, Once a Pokemon from Pokemon: Let's Go, Pikachu or Pokemon: Let's Go, Eevee is moved into Pokemon Sword or Pokemon Shield, it cannot be moved back to Pokemon: Let's Go, Pikachu or Pokemon: Let's Go, Eevee.
Pokemon HOME was one of the major announcements on Nintendo Direct back in January, along with the Sword and Shieldpaid DLC that The Pokemon Company announced along with the highly anticipated Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX, a revamp of the RPG dungeon game.
