Niantic, the developers of Pokemon Go has blessed gamers with the timeline of events happening this month of February. Tons are in store for gamers out there who are both old and new to the franchise like Pokemon voted on by players, a new 5th generation of Pokemon, a new Legendary, and more events that will surely keep you on your toes!

Pokemon Go Events and Updates!
First of the presses, comes a new Special Research questline about Team Rocket. As with previous alterations of these types of quest's it will inevitably let you fight Giovani. Once players have defeated, you will have a chance to snag yourself a new Shadow Legendary Pokemon: Shadow Raikou.

The next update for the game comes with a new Research Breakthrough reward. Each time players achieve a Research Breakthrough in-game, they may be able to earn a chance to catch the new Gen 5 Pokemon, Woobat. Gen 5 Legendary Tornadus will also make its debut in Raid Battles on Feb. 4, so keep an eye out for that.
From Feb. 7-10, a Sinnoh celebration event will be held by Niantic. Pokemon originally from the Sinnoh region will appear much more frequently in the wild, and any 7 km eggs obtained during the event will exclusively hatch into Sinnoh Pokemon like Budew, Gible, Riolu, Hippopotas, and Mantyke. Players will have a chance to catch Shiny version of Riolu and Hippopotas during the event, and more special Field Research tasks that might reward you with Sinnoh Stones to use. Make sure to really play this event out.
The next events will run on Feb. 14-17, it will be Pokemon Go's annual Valentine's Day event. Pink-colored Pokemon will appear more frequently in the wild as well as Raids. Gen 5 Pokemon Audino and Alomomola will also enter the stage during this event. Another chance to hatch a Shiny Happiny or encounter a Shiny Chansey out in the wild. This event is a must-try for all players out there.

Events that Niantic will hold will be Pokemon Spotlight Hour, which will take place on Feb. 4. Watch out from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M. local time, a "surprise Pokemon" will appear more often. On Feb. 6, the company will host a Mystery Bonus Hour event, and it will offer a surprise bonus again from 6:00-7:00 P.M. (EST).

Niantic indeed has a lot in store for fans of the game this month, and a lot of exciting developments for the future of the game's longevity is really showcased by the mere fact that they keep on updating and adding new events. Let's not forget that this franchise started in 1996 with Pokemon Red, Blue, and Green from the Gameboy Color is now very much so a global phenomenon that fans even at that time still play this game up until now.
