Basis Science has unveiled 2014 Carbon Steel Edition band that comes with Advanced Sleep Analysis, which tracks its user's sleep patterns.
The company says that Basis is the world's most advanced health tracker and the latest Advanced Sleep Analysis offers the most in-depth sleep analytics among other health tracking devices available in the market.
"Proper sleep is just as important as exercise and good nutrition for a healthy lifestyle," said Jef Holove, CEO of Basis. "With Advanced Sleep Analysis, we are striving to provide users with the most comprehensive sleep metrics that can empower real habit change and improve overall health. No other tracker is able to provide this level of insight."
The company's latest analytics system will tell its users when they were in a light sleep, rapid-eye movement (REM) sleep or deep sleep. The advanced sleep tracker can also indicate its user's sleep quality in terms of toss-and-turns, interruptions and duration. Basis will also give its users sleep analysis with daily and average sleep scores so that its users can track their progress over time.
The company says that Advanced Sleep Analysis features are possible because it has a variety of sensors such as a sweat sensor and a heartbeat sensor built into its base platform from the start.
In November 2013, Basis unveiled its Body IQ feature that can sense if its user was running, walking or biking. It provided cloud-based analytics that help users track their activities.
The company's original Basis Band came with swapable wrist bands and its Carbon Steel version was the most popular $50 option for customers. Now the company will sell the 2014 Carbon Steel Edition as a default for $199. The company will also reduce the existing Basis B1 Band price to $179, only till stocks last.
The 2014 Carbon Steel Edition is now available on the company's website. The company says that the latest health tracker will be available from Amazon soon and from Best Buy stores from February 2 onwards. The Advanced Sleep Analysis feature will be available from January 21 with the release of the Basis app 2.0 versions for iOS, Android, and the Web.
