Nintendo and the Pokemon Company have recently made a few droppings of surprising gifts available to be received by everyone on the game starting today.
Pokemon Sword and Shield players can claim free rare items on the game as a celebration for the start of the new year.
Here are some of the items you can check out now on the game, as reported first via Game Spot:
1. Gigantamax-Capable Meowth
If you purchased a copy of Pokemon Sword and Shield before the end of Jan 15, you will be automatically entitled to receive your own Meowth Pokemon. Another great news is that this pocket monster can have the ability to Gigantamax, yet after this, the Pokemon will no longer be able to evolve.
To claim your free Meowth, just select 'Mystery Gift' from the games' main menu and choose the 'Get via internet' option from the game.
2. Get 10 Premier Balls
As announced by Nintendo, another set of rare PokeBalls will be up for grabs this year. Just enter the AREAS1LVESTRE code on the Mystery Gift section and receive 10 Premier Balls up until Feb 27. PokeBalls that look fancier but with the same price as standard PokeBalls.

To get free bundles of Battle Points that are available for a limited time, just enter codes like G1GANTAMAX and KAMPFTEAM to gain additional 20 battle points on your account.
5. Gigantamax-Capable Pikachu or Eevee
If you're playing Sword and Shield and at the same time Pokemon: Let's Go Pikachu or Let's Go Eevee on your Nintendo device, here's a major free item for you.
You can get a free Pikachu or Eevee on the game that is both able to Gigantamax. You can get these Pokemon through traveling to the Wild Area Station.
