If you're an avid gamer of Pokemon Sword and Shield, you might have already noticed the disappearance of the necessary feature of the 'National Pokedex.' Since the released date of the game on Nov. 15, Pokemon already explained the reason why the National Pokedex cannot be part of the game on its first released. However, since fans found Pokedex as one of the most important features in all the games of Pokemon, a lot of fans were still disappointed in the explanation of their management.
Not surprising, there are tons of different fan theories on why National Pokedex was removed from the game.
Why National Pokedex was Removed on Pokemon Sword and Shield
Contrary to Pokemon's famous line of 'Gotta catch em' all,' Pokemon seemed to be missing the point of this famous line. Since Pokemon Sword and Shield's first released, Junichi Masuda-- a director at Game Freak, already revealed the news of Pokemon Sword and Shield 'Dexit' in the first Nintendo Treehouse of E3 2019. Based on his explanation, "there are a couple of different parts to the thinking behind it, but really the biggest reason for [Pokemon Sword and Shield 'Dexit'] is just the sheer number of Pokemon."
With Masuda's explanation, a lot of fans understood the said explanation. However, most of them continue to demand a better and detailed explanation from the management-- even promoting a boycott on the game. Other users even made fan theories on the real reason behind the said closure of the feature.
'Not enough Manpower'?
As mentioned by @Kylestien in Reddit, "the real reason Dexit occurred is Game Freak screwed up the importer and could not fix it, and the PR plan to save Sword and Shield is not to admit this and "Listen to feedback" by adding the mons next gen when it's fixed."
"[They] didn't have the manpower with the right knowledge to fix it in time to meet the set release date," added by him.
This fan theory became huge information for fans out there as a lot of them were convinced that Game Freak created an error with the game-- forcing them to launch Pokemon Sword and Shield even without the National Pokedex.
The Reddit user even challenges Game Freak to tell them the truth behind 'Dexit' or admit that his theory was based on facts.
"Admit you done goofed. Release a statement that Sword and Shield did not go as you planned. In that same statement, commit to fixing the issues in patches. We live in a day and age that patches are a common thing, and to be honest, a lot of the issues with sword and shield can be fixed by doing so," posted by him.
1,000 People Work on Fixing Pokemon Sword and Shield
Another additional information that a Reddit user released online is that there have been 1,000 people working on fixing the game to attached its 'National Pokedex.'
Although these claims seemed to be convincing at best, Game Freak has not yet released any additional statement regarding the issue, making these claims still inaccurate, for now.
