You've probably already memorized how Nintendo gaming consoles look like and how different it looks from its main competitor, Sony's Playstation series. But did you know that they had a huge crossover back then before even Sony launched its very first Playstation? Luckily, Heritage Auctions, one of the known auctioneers in the United States, is set to make your dream come true by putting the device on their next auction in 2020.

'Nintendo Play Station' Soon in Auction

'Nintendo Play Station', or most commonly known as 'Play Station', is a gaming machine back in 1991 that was manufactured by Sony in partnership with Nintendo. It is a Super Nintendo device that can be played with standard Super Famicom cartridge games that can also run games using its built-in CD-ROM device. However, the partnership between Nintendo and Sony did not go well after said 'disputes' immerged in the said project. Forcing Sony to launched its very first Playstation in 1994 while Nintendo is having a partnership with other companies such as Philips.

Although the partnership did not go well as planned, Nintendo Play Station was still created with its original prototype, which will soon be up for grabs in February with the help of Heritage Auctions.

Who Owns the Said Last Remaining 'Nintendo Play Station'?

According to a report in Kotaku, in 2009, a man named Terry Diebold remembered buying the said device from an abandoned property of one of Sony's executives. Back then, Diebold did not know how legendary the device was. Then comes 2015, Diebold's son rediscovered the 'Nintendo Play Station' which made them curious about how huge this device is when it comes to the gaming history of the world. Since then, Diebold and his son toured around the globe and introduced his device to other gaming enthusiasts.

Although Diebold made known to the world that the last remaining 'Nintendo Play Station' is still alive and works, the expenses from his tours made him full of debts, which forces him now to sell the said device in an auction.

"I can't keep losing money. I've put a lot of work into this by traveling with it, and we have made nothing on it. Every trip that we... have taken with it has cost us money out of pocket," written by Diebold in an email sent in Kotaku.

How Much Will it Costs?

As usual, since Diebold's 'Nintendo Play Station' original prototype was the last remaining device of its kind in the world-- as per Engadget-- the price for this device is expected to reach millions. Diebold, back then, already had million-dollar offers for him to sell the prototype. However, he didn't. But now he's ready and so is Heritage Auctions.

In fact, in a statement released by Heritage Auctions, they are pretty sure that the item will be in demand in the market. On the other hand, since the item was not sold for any prices back then, there are no assurances or signs of how much will the device costs for the people joining the online auction exactly on Feb. 27.

Still, it is interesting to see how this particular item will be sold in an auction especially on how expensive would this be.
