It was prior announced that Microsoft's popular operating system, Windows 7 will have to say goodbye now on its loyal users. After Jan. 14, 2020, Microsoft will no longer give security updates and supports for PCs that are still under Windows 7. Microsoft Reminds Windows 7 Users to Replace OS
As a huge reminder to all Windows 7 users, Microsoft will start flashing bigger and full-screen pop-ups on their screen to remind the said closure of the operating system. The full-screen notification will warn that "your Windows 7 PC is out of support," starting on Jan. 15, 2020. Windows 10 vs Windows 7: Which is the Better OS?
The debate between Windows 10 and Windows 7 for the place of the best operating system has been going on for a long time ever since Microsoft released Windows 10 in 2015. In fact, according to Net Applications, Windows 10 already had 39.22% of desktop OS market share in December 2018, compared to 36.95% for Windows 7. Though the number is still slim to really compare, a lot of critics still believe that Windows 7 cannot be replaced by Windows 10-- especially in terms of security.
Windows 7 on Simpler Design and Features
Windows 7 is what people mostly grew up in. This 10-year old operating system of Microsoft offers a simpler look and user interface compared to Windows 10. Unlike Windows 10, all of the apps in Windows 7 are right in front of you once you click the start button.
Windows 10 has Cortana and Action Bar
Since Windows 7 is so much older compared to Windows 10, its connection to the most updated technology can be quite lower compared to 10. Cortana, for one example, is the best edge of Windows 10 to Windows 7. Microsoft's voice assistant is beneficial and handy for most users since it can help you with sending emails online or checking the weather. Aside from that, the operating system also has a more organized notification center called Action Bar.
Security and Updates
Here lies the huge issue between Windows 7 and 10-- the security and updates. Though security will be more compromised once Microsoft gives up its support for Windows 7, this operating system can still compete against Windows 10. Compared to Windows 7 wherein it only receives one major "Service Pack" update, Windows 10 frequently works on big updates wherein it usually takes up a huge number of data on a normal computer set.
