Attention, Trainers! This December, Niantic Labs and the Pokémon GO team are inviting you to celebrate the power of change during the first-ever Evolution Event.
Celebrate the Power of Change
In a press release posted on Dec. 4 (Wednesday), the team behind the hit augmented reality (AR) video game is inviting their Trainers to celebrate how much their Pokémons and themselves have changed.
"Perhaps one of the greatest lessons we learn from Pokémon is that it's possible to evolve into a surprising and cool being-sometimes we just need a little boost or help!" said the team.
What Is a Pokémon Evolution?
In the game, the evolution of a certain creature depends on its gender and whether it has spent time with a buddy. Sometimes, the evolution happens at particular times of day, because of certain items, or the duration of a Lure Module's appearance.
During the Evolution Event 2019, Trainers can catch Evolution items from raids, use Lure Modules for longer periods (one hour), and encounter special Pokémons more frequently in the wild and in Field Research.
