PlayStation now adds the game that started the Battle Royale craze into its collection. Player unknown's Battle Ground (known throughout the internet as PUBG), will be added to Playstation's game subscription/game streaming service. Besides PUBG, Wolfenstein: The Old Blood and Formula 1 2019 is getting added to the service as well.

PUBG

PUBG is best well known to have started the current Battle Royale trend. At the height of its craze, it was able to attract up to 3 million concurrent players on Steam, the highest ever for a single game on the platform. While PUBG's numbers have dwindled ever since, it still holds a loyal following, particularly in Asia.

The game is currently in its fifth season and is showing no signs of stopping any time soon. It has recently released a battle pass full of Mad Max inspired loot and skins. PUBG Corporation, the developer of the title, has also decided to remove random paid loot crates by December 8. Instead, they are moving towards releasing limited-time crates and adding more value towards their seasonal battle passes.

Wolfenstein: The Old Blood

A stand-alone title in the Wolfenstein series, The Old Blood brings players back to alternate-history 1946, where Nazis are thriving and use advanced automaton and dabble in the occult. The game serves as a prequel to the 2014 Wolfenstein title The New Order.

In The Old Blood, players take control of B.J Blazkowicz, the iconic protagonist of the Wolfenstein series. Players have to navigate levels with the mixed usage of gunplay and stealth. The Steel Pipe is also introduced, where it is used both as a weapon and as an environment traversal tool. Players can use the pipe to climb rock walls or break objects such as windows in order to move through levels.

Formula 1 2019

Formula 1 2019 is this year's official motorsport game based on the 2019 Formula One and Formula Two championships. The title is developed by renowned racing developer Codemasters Birmingham. It features all 21 circuits, 20 drivers, and 10 teams from the 2019 Formula One World Championship.

The game's newest feature allows AI-controlled drivers in career mode to switch teams during the year, with these events being random and not predetermined. This is also the first game to feature teams and drivers from the lower-tier Formula Two Championship. Additional content via DLC also adds legendary cars from Formula One's past, such as the Ferrari F10 and the McLaren MP4-25.

The Future of PS Now

Ever since Sony decided to slash PS Now's prices back in October, the company has become more aggressive in trying to lure in gamers to get into their subscription service. This is primarily seen as a move to counteract Microsoft's Game Pass service, which offers a great deal of recent titles, and even Day-one releases, for a low price point. But Sony has been using its critically acclaimed first-party titles to its advantage. God of War, Infamous: Second Son, and Uncharted 4: A Thief's End are all available on Sony's service. And to make sure that it's also attracting non-PlayStation console owners, PS Now allows these titles to be streamed to a PC through its dedicated PS Now app.
