Yesterday, we posted an article about what would transpire at today's Apple event in New York. We mentioned about the tech giant's favorite 2019 games and apps that would be honored at the said happening. And, as expected, the two favorites indeed seemed to be the stars of the show. The Dec. 2 event focused on putting emphasis on Apple's best games and apps of 2019. And while it was dubbed as a "special event," the affair was rather passive and did not include an announcement on any operating system and product in particular.
So, what really happened during the event?' As has always been detailed previously, according to reports that came out in various online tech news reports, "Apple has [a] dedicated location in New York City where it holds private briefings with media practitioners" to present and provide hands-on time with new software and hardware. That seems to be the venue of Apple's "special event" today.
Apple's Special Event
Bloomberg's Mark Gurman said, as posted on TechTelegraph, the event today, "centered on Apple inviting developers to its office in New York City to talk about the stories and inspiration behind their applications." Additionally, an image posted on social media (which has already been deleted) showed an envelope being handed out with the teaser, "And the winners are..."
And just as everybody was cautioned at that time, the early-December event was actually not so much of an 'event.' Neither software nor product announcements were made. Rather, the emphasis was mainly and purely on offering the developers the opportunity of demonstrating their mobile apps to the press who were there. Towards the latter part of the evening today, Apple is expected to officially announce its Game of the Year, App of the Year, and all other Best this year. More so, the announcement is expected to come out via press release.
Attendees Possibly Under Embargo by Apple
The said announcement release during the Apple event, according to applebase.net, "is to offer a closer look at the awards handed out by Apple." Reports about the affair have it that those who attended today are possibly "under embargo by Apple" at the moment. This is the reason no one has heard anything more in particular about what really transpired in the Apple "Special Event."
While we have a few more weeks left before 2019 ends, are we expecting more from Apple? The only one sure thing here is that the only forthcoming hardware launch is the new Apple Mac Pro and the Pro Display XDR. Mac Pro, as described on the Apple website, is a "completely redesigned, a breakthrough workstation for pros" pushing the limits of what this electronic device can do. The Pro Display XDR, on the other hand, is considered as the best pro display in the world. These two Apple offerings are expected to be launched sometime this December. However, specific details remain unclear, including the costs on configurations that are built-to-order.
