Tesla's newest Cybertruck can be considered as one of the greatest examples of the saying "good or bad publicity is still publicity." With the course of its market and gained revenues from its pre-orders, the controversial futuristic pick-up truck seemed to be, slowly but surely, moving on a successful rate. But how?

Tesla's Cybertruck and its Ups and Downs

On Nov. 21, the world witnessed an extraordinary vehicle launched by one of the most well-known automotive company, Tesla. It's called 'Cybertruck.' A trapezoid-shaped, metal-based, with the futuristic look of a pick-up truck. Aside from its "weird" look, the highlight of its car reveal was not on its specs, but its false advertising—or the 'window mishap.'

Though a lot of memes and jokes were thrown on the launching of the controversial vehicle, the market seemed to be entertained by its publicity, in which Tesla might be thankful for.

On Nov. 24, three days after the reveal, Musk announced that they already received a huge number of pre-orders for the said vehicle—reaching 250,000. This announcement became a surprise for experts telling that Musk's new creation cannot compete with the worldwide market. Some say that Cybertruck reached that amount due to its cheap pre-order price of $100. Whether it's part of Tesla's strategy or not, it looks like it is going right in its preferred direction.

Cybertruck Seen Publicly?

As said on Tesla's website, the start of the production for 'cybertruck' would be in the year 2021 while the start of its selling would be in early 2022. That is years from now, but an Instagram post recently got the attention of the crowd because of its video showing cybertruck being driven in the parts of California.

On the video, a clear vehicle looking like Cybertruck was being driven followed by a Tesla Model 3. The video already reached more than 150,000 views on Instagram wherein a lot of questions popped in on whether Tesla is already selling out their cybertruck on the road—or its production already started to produce thousands of the vehicle.

Still, the issue here remains. Will there be a chance for cybertruck to be a worldwide hit?

According to CNN writer Brett Smith, the case of cybertruck being one of the ridiculed cars in this generation but gained a lot of potential buyers can be compared to the classic car of DMC DeLorean.

Fourty years ago, John DeLorean created DMC DeLorean that both has a futuristic design and angular edges. It was made famous after the car was shown in Back to the Future franchise. But the fame of DMC did not breakthrough as DeLorean does not have the same strong performance compared to Tesla.

Another proof that cybertruck is going out of bounds with its unbelievable positive impact in the market is the current decision of Dubai to use this as one of their patrol cars.

According to a tweeted post from Dubai Police, cybertruck will be one of their next set of patrol cars in the future. The caption "2020 Dubai Police #Cybertruck" explains that Dubai is thinking of making Tesla's pick-up truck as one of their police cars. Dubai Police force was known for using Italian luxury cars like Lamborghinis and McLarens.

Commander-in-Chief Maj Gen. Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri of Dubai Police confirmed this rumor and said that they will use cybertruck to "enhance security presence" inside their tourist spots like in Burj Khalifa.

Will this be the start of a massive market for cybertruck? Or an end to this futuristic vehicle?
