Valve's Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has always been rife with cheaters. The competitive format has always attracted players who want a competitive advantage over others through unscrupulous means despite Valve cracking down on cheaters using new AI-assisted anti-cheat systems.

As luck would have it, Twitch streamer Benczek who was live-streaming himself during the DreamHack winter Event finds a young CS:GO player running multiple cheats out in the open.

Caught Red-Handed at DreamHack

Twitch Streamer Benczek was streaming live at the DreamHack Winter event held at Jönköping, Sweden, when he comes across a young CS:GO player using what appears to be three different types of cheats. The short clip below shows the player's character moving and bunny-hopping at high speed, being played in third-person view, and shows the player models colored purple for added visibility. With three distinct cheats visible in the short clip and being used in plain view, the player does not seem to mind showing the public his use of cheats.

Benczek initially remarks in Polish that the young boy appears to be cheating, then switches to Swedish to ask the boy "are you cheating" to which the young boy replies "yeah." The nonchalant reply leaves Benczek laughing before he leaves the player to continue with his cheating.

The young boy using multiple cheats publicly appears to be using his own computer to compete in the bring your own computer (BYOC) tournament. The BYOC CS:GO tournament is an open tournament for players bringing their own computers and has a 50,000 Swedish Krona ($5200 USD) prize pot. Of course, cheating is still not allowed or condoned by Valve nor by DreamHack.

Follow-Up Interview With William

A follow-up video by Twitch streamer Benczek features an interview with the player now identified as William. Benczek asks the young player why he cheated in Counter-Strike, to which the boy replies "because I thought it was fun" in a nonchalant manner. Benczek then asks whether William's friends or anyone else has been mean or has been harassing him over the cheating incident, to which he replied that no one has done so. Finally, Benczek reminds William that he hopes that William will no longer cheat in Counter-Strike because the internet has had a wildly negative reaction to the event.

DreamHack Winter Open has also finally ended, with forZe beating Tricked 2-1 to take home the championship as well as the $50,000 USD prize.

CS:GO Updates

Valve has been making great strides in CS:GO, apart from the earlier mentioned update in its Anti-Cheat systems. CS:GO Operation Shattered Web has been released featuring new agent skins and lots of other new customizability options. New maps, missions, and game modes have also been included in CS:GO's biggest update so far, so make sure to check it out.
