Virtual Reality, a method of creating a simulated environment through a computer, has been one of the main highlights in the area of technology for the past years. In this device, you can choose wherever you wanted to go, and whatever you wanted to see, however, it is only for a virtual experience.
Since its release to market, different researchers tried to understand whether virtual reality through VR Headsets do have real benefits, or they are only designed for entertainment purposes.
VR Headset's Impact on Humans
We've heard a lot about VR headsets and how awesome it is when playing video games and such. However, there were also experiments linking people's productivity in work or working out while using VR headsets. Here's what they found out.
In the experiment done by a writer in Forbes, a VR headset was seen to be worn by her while exercising. The effects of this experiment were extremely impressive after she claimed that her exercising pattern became more progressive while watching through VR headsets.
Meanwhile, the claim of having more productivity in working out while watching through VR headsets was also done by The Guardian. However, this applies to office work productivity.
However, the results were not too impressive compared to exercising.
According to the experiment, humans cannot have a successful working environment while using VRs. This is because most of the time, the VR eyes cannot properly distinguish office things like a computer mouse or even a cup of coffee.
"For other jobs, though, it's far clearer that some form of VR is the future. You don't need to use Tilt Brush, Google's 3D painting app, for long to realize that it could be a gamechanger for those who work with 3D modeling. And if you do need to visualize complex information, virtual reality is an obvious way forward," said writer in The Guardian.
Interestingly, they found out that VR headsets not just only apply for humans.
VR Headset Boosts Cow's Milk Production?
Moscow's Ministry of Agriculture and Food released a report through an experiment saying that there's a link between a dairy cow's emotional experience and its milk production. The experiment was first done on a farm in Russia wherein they put mock-up VR headsets on their milking cows using a "unique summer field simulation program."
"During the first test, experts recorded a decrease in anxiety and an increase in the overall emotional mood of the herd," the report says.
This results to a relaxing mood for cows, according to study, which was said that may boost their milk production. However, the government of Moscow still reiterated that they wanted to create more studies about the connection behind VR headsets and whether if it has effect on cow's milk production.
