On Nov. 21, Tesla showcased its epic and futuristic pick-up truck termed the 'Cybertruck.' Though the grand reveal seemed to be out of the original 'plan' since the failed test of its window's durability. Elon Musk, the founder of Tesla, continued to brag the said vehicle-- even to the extent of comparing his vehicle's feature to Ford's F-150, the all-time favorite pick-up truck.
In the same event of the grand reveal, Musk has shown a video that has Cybertruck and Ford pick-up truck in both ends-- initiating a tug of war. According to him, the video showed that Cybertruck can tow even the said 'super truck' of Ford.
This started a feud between the two automotive companies.
Ford Challenges Tesla
On Nov. 25, Sundeep Madra-- Ford Motor Company's Vice President-- posted a tweet challenging the newest product of Tesla in a 'fair' towing battle. This is after many audiences from the crowd and in social media stated that the said battle between the two vehicles was not fair in the video on different levels.
"Hey @elonmusk send us a cybertruck and we will do the apples to apples test for you," tweeted Madra.
'Bring it on'
On the same day that Madra tweeted the said challenge, Musk quickly answered and accepted the towing battle by saying 'bring it on' to his competitor.
Though the two companies are not yet saying that the battle's official, huge set of fans of the two already expects a lot from the said battle.
However, critics are saying that Musk might just accept the challenge in the online world, but this event will never happen-- just like the incident of Tesla's Model S vs Porsche's Taycan.
Unexpected Success of Cybertruck
As explained, Cybertruck's grand reveal did not go as planned. Franz von Holzhaussen, Tesla's chief designer, was tasked to present the durability and strongness of the said car. However, in his presentation, the window of the cybertruck got damaged after being hit by a metal ball.
"We threw wrenches, we threw everything, even - literally - the kitchen sink, at the glass, and it didn't break. For some weird reason, it broke now. I don't know why. We will fix it in the post," said Musk.
Musk already explained the said fiasco by saying that 'at least it did not go through.' Still, critics already expected that the item will turn flopped in the market after this humiliating incident. Unexpectedly, Musk recently said that the item already has a stunning number of the market as high as 200,000 pre-orders.
The Cybertruck starts price at $39,999. This vehicle was said to have a towing ability of handling as heavy as 14,000 pounds. Cybertruck was also bragged to be faster than sports cars like Porsche 911 with its speed and acceleration of 2.9 seconds from 0-60 mph.
Musk stated that the production of cybertruck is still on-works, which will start in late 2021. Still, the chief executive expects that cybertruck will still lead the market now that a lot of potential clients signed up for his vehicle.
