It's confirmed! Huawei is releasing two brand-new MatePad products set to be unveiled just before Black Friday 2019. The big launch for both Huawei Mate Pro and MatePad is scheduled on Nov. 25, and this was confirmed by Richard Yu, the company's Chief Executive Officer (CEO). His confirmation was done on the Chinese social networking platform Weibo.
A Playful Droid report has it that the MatePad Pro tablet of Huawei will be the company's "first time ever to have a hole-punch notch in the display," akin to the Samsung Galaxy S10's design. This new gadget will support 40W fast-charging, while the internal specifications include storage of 256GB, an 8GB RAM, and as expected, the Kirin 990 chip powering the Huawei Mate 30 Pro.
Google's Presence
Since the issue of Huawei with Google, there has been a big question with the soon-to-be-launched iPad Pro lookalikes, just like any other device Huawei launches. That is, "What will be the situation regarding Google Mobile Services' presence." Ever since the enactment of the Android ban, these new Huawei gadgets have lost access to the standard Google apps, which are somewhat common to any other Android device.
If any of these devices runs on Android OS sans the access to the Play Store, then it is more likely to struggle in terms of sales in high figures, at least in the western marketplaces. More than the issue with Google, Huawei fans surely feel more excited about how the new tablet looks like. The MatePad Pro, as described in TechRadar, "looks to be a fairly thin tablet with a large screen, broken up by the front-facing camera."
Features to Look Forward to
Other than what was earlier mentioned, Huawei's new tablet has a stylus and keyboard folio. It is not clear as well if either or both come with the device. If you'll notice, the Galaxy Table comes with a stylus. However, the peripherals for the iPad Pro range need to be bought separately. This latest major launch in technology, the Huawei Mate 30 Pro, is considered as the company's flagship smartphone. And, as mentioned, this device struggled because of the missing Google apps. But, other than that, those who have tried and reviewed the tech gadget claim the performance was entirely impressive.
As for the camera, the quality is, in particular, excellent, and the battery life is longer than expected. The processor is impressively fast, too, but the not-so-good news is that this new Huawei product is not yet sold worldwide. It won't be sold in other regions and countries like the United Kingdom, until the issue with Google is resolved. This is the same challenge Huawei MatePad Pro might face that no matter how promising its features and specs may be; since Google Mobile Services is not completely utilized, the device may not be fully enjoyed by the user.
