How to Survive the Night in 'Five Nights at Freddy's 2'

Five Nights at Freddy's 2 is just as terrifying as the first game that broke the internet and the gaming community, filled with jump scares so bad that you'll likely have nightmares about killer animatronics for a few nights straight.

A Well-loved Horror Game

Besides its scary premise, the gameplay itself is definitely not a walk in the park as you try to solve puzzles while trying to survive the night, and it's the combination of the two that made the franchise such a massive hit.

There is even a VR adaptation of the game entitled Five Nights at Freddy's VR: Help Wanted (2019), and it's getting an Oculus Quest version, and Oculus has confirmed it through a blog post.

Surviving the Nights at FNaF 2

If you're back to playing the remastered version of FNaF 2, here's a guide from IGN on how to survive the nights.

There are several characters that you need to steer away from or find ways to keep them from entering your office so that you can survive the night—including Balloon Boy, Bonnie, Freddy, Foxy, and Marionette.

Balloon Boy appears in the vent, so check your cameras often, and if you do see him, put your mask as soon as possible. Once you put the mask on, you'll hear a thumping in the vent, and after you check it, Balloon Boy should be gone. However, if he does get into your room, you won't be able to use your lights, and you can't make him leave.

New Bonnie and New Chica are rather easy to deal with, as you only need to put on your mask when they appear (Bonnie on the right, Chica on the left). Bonnie will pass right in front of you after putting your mask and will eventually leave. Once the lights stop flickering, you can take your mask off.

Meanwhile, Chica won't pass in front of you, but she would leave after some time. If you hear thumping sounds and you don't see her face anymore, then you can take off your mask.

It should also be noted that Chica will appear in the hallway but won't enter through there.

To keep The Puppet/Marionette away, make sure that you always go to the Prize Room Cam and wind the music box, especially when you see a small triangle with an exclamation point on the bottom right of your screen.

Old Chica and Old Bonnie are easier to handle as well since they leave when you put your mask one. However, they will stare at you for a bit from time to time and fake leaving, when in fact, they're hiding behind your desk, giving you one of the terrifying jump scares.

Old Freddy and Toy Freddy will try to enter your office through the hallway and often act like Old Chica and Old Bonnie. Popping your mask on will make them leave once you see them sitting on your desk.

Meanwhile, you can fend Foxy off by shining your light on him and opening the camera. But, you won't be able to avoid his attacks if Balloon Boy enters your office.

Besides Balloon Boy, Mangle is one of the hardest characters to avoid, especially when she's on the ceiling, as she randomly attacks once you put your monitor up and down, although she will only try to scare you for the first few nights (and will probably succeed in doing so). Still, she'll try to kill you fast during the later nights. You can try fending the attack once you lower the monitor.

However, if she appears in the hallway, you only need to shine your light on her, and she will leave. When she's on the vent, put your mask on and wait for the thumping noise as it signals that she has left.

Golden Freddy doesn't appear until Night 6 or Night 7 (custom night). Although you only need to put on the mask to make him go away, it's harder to predict when he'll come as he teleports to your office or the hallway randomly.

Just be ready to put the mask on once you suspect he's there.

You can now play the remastered version of Five Nights at Freddy's 2 through the iOS App Store and Google Play Store.
