The Most Disturbing But Real Techs of the Past Years

Technology is more advanced than ever, and more techs are being produced that will break the world and change the way we see it. But, not everything is awe-inspiring. They're more like spooky and disturbing.

Here's a roundup of the spookiest techs courtesy of Observer that we might see soon, and if you've watched any episodes of Black Mirror, you'll know that technology isn't always man's greatest invention.

Brain Chips

Two of the biggest names in the tech world are thinking of ways to integrate humans and computers.

Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, has previously announced that he and his team at the neural tech company, Neuralink, are in the process of creating a brain chip that will be implanted behind a person's ear to help promote a "symbiosis" between human and AI, as per Business Insider.

It's far in development that Musk hopes to jump to human testing "before the end of next year."

The tech is nothing new, but it's somewhat stranger as Musk, himself, has been pretty vocal with his fears of artificial intelligence being more intelligent than humans and ending our species.

German automotive manufacturer, Continental, developed robotic dogs that are designed for the last-mile delivery, according to The Verge, dispatched by a self-driving delivery truck for the door-to-door delivery of your goods.

These robotic dogs have already debuted at the Consumer Electronics Show earlier this year.

Deepfakes

The deepfake technology is not a part of Observer's list but should be on the list as it's by far one of the most disturbing and even dangerous techs that are available today.

Deepfakes are modified videos made by "deep learning" and can make anyone believe in something that is not real, including putting the face of a well-known personality in someone's body and make them do and say things that can get them, or even the world, in trouble.

What's even more dangerous about this tech is that it's available to anyone with a computer and an internet connection.
