Adobe might bring Illustrator to the iPad soon.
This follows the company's plans of a full version of Photoshop for the Apple tablet, but it has yet to be released.
Illustrator App For iPad
Citing "people familiar with the matter," Bloomberg reports that Adobe has chosen Illustrator to be the next Creative Cloud software it's launching for the iPad.
The company is expected to take the wraps off the app in November at its Max conference and release it sometime during 2020. This version of Illustrator is said to support many of the features that its desktop counterpart has, which is more or less the same goal for Photoshop.
For the uninitiated, Illustrator is a vector graphics editor used mainly for making graphics and digital drawings. It's also among the most popular apps in the Creative Cloud suite.
Photoshop App For iPad
Back in October 2018, Adobe announced that it intends to launch Photoshop for the iPad in 2019, which was revealed early by a Bloomberg report back in July 2018.
At the time of writing, it's still in beta. From the look of things, it might not turn out to be as advertised. Case in point, Bloomberg published a recent report that describes the app as a "beefed-up cloud-based version of their existing iPad apps" rather than "real Photoshop," which is how Adobe touts it as.
On the other hand, John Gruber of Daring Fireball says that Adobe is "genuinely all-in" when it comes to Photoshop for the iPad, citing "multiple reliable sources." Apparently, the team behind the project will follow an "aggressive schedule" to add features and the like. In short, it might not take long for the app to become "real Photoshop" after it becomes available.
Adobe is believed to announce updates regarding not only its Photoshop app for the iPad but also its plans of bringing Illustrator to the platform.
