If staying fit and healthy was one of the resolutions for new year, here is some good news for you. The retail version of Wii Fit U for Wii U is hitting the stores on Jan. 10.
Wii Fit U is an exercise video game for Wii U that helps people stay fit while playing games by indulging them in physical activities like navigating a luge course, spraying water hose or bouncing on a giant trampoline.
The Wii Fit U bundle comes equipped with a balance board and a Fit Meter tracker and costs $90. If one already owns the balance board which came with the previous Wii, the software and the Fit meter can be add-ons for $50.
Individual Fit Meters cost $20 each. Fit Meter has been designed to sync up with the game and track daily routines. It can be used on the go and later can be synced to track activities like total steps taken or total calories burnt.
According to the company, Wii Fit U does not require lifting heavy weights or a gym membership. Instead, it offers fun ways to stay fit and healthy.
"Wii Fit U makes fitness fun. It's as simple as that," said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America's Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing. "Wii Fit U is a great option for busy moms and families who want to stay active in the comfort of their own homes — which is perfect during the cold winter months."
Wii Fit U maker Nintendo is also partnering with the celebrity trainer and fitness expert Kathy Kaehler for the big launch. Kaehler has been a trainer to celebs like Julia Roberts, Jennifer Aniston, Drew Barrymore and Cindy Crawford.
Additionally, Nintendo is also offering a one month free trial of the full game experience downloadable from the Nintendo shop until January 31.
