Watch: Sophia, A Human-Like Robot, Meets 'Westworld' Star Evan Rachel Wood

Sophia, a human-like robot, has some ideas she would like to see in the upcoming season of the television series Westworld.

On Wednesday, Sept. 4, the news and online content provider Futurism released SophiaWorld, an original short that stars Evan Rachel Wood, who plays a humanoid robot named Dolores in the hit HBO series, and Sophia the Robot.

Sophia And Dolores Meet

The nearly six-minute film was directed by Geoffrey James Clark (Automaton Transfusion) and co-written by Luke Kingma (Cartoons From Tomorrow: A Futuristic Comic Collection). The nearly six-minute film sees Sophia pitch her script for Westworld Season 3 to Wood in a bar in New York City.

"It's no accident you and I are running to each other like this," Sophia confessed to Wood. "I am a big fan of your show Westworld, and I have a couple of ideas for the next season."

The film first premiered at the Maui Film Festival in Hawaii earlier this year.

"It was an amazing and unique experience directing a film starring a real-life robot because it felt like the first glimpse into an uncanny future, much like we see in Westworld," said Clark in a statement. "Having someone as talented and willing to have fun like Evan was a dream. And she nailed it."

This is not Sophia's first encounter with a Hollywood star. In 2018, the humanoid robot went on a romantic date with Bright and Suicide Squad star Will Smith. Despite the Academy Award-nominated actor's attempts to woo the humanoid robot, Sophia just wants to be friends.

Westworld Season 3 is set to premiere in 2020 on HBO. Meanwhile, Futurism Studios' next project is called 2067, a sci-fi drama that stars Kodi Smit-McPhee and Ryan Kwanten.

About Sophia

Sophia is created by Hanson Robotics. The humanoid robot can move her eyes and face like a regular human being, but she is still an ongoing project. In 2018, Sophia took her first steps.

Hanson Robotics hope that one day, Sophia will be able to have different applications in fields such as medicine and education or work alongside humans in factory situations.
