A Nintendo Switch case themed after Overwatch just got leaked, and it's being taken as the best evidence yet that Blizzard's first-person shooter is getting a port to the hybrid console.
The product went up on an Amazon listing with the line "Officially licensed by Nintendo and Blizzard Entertainment," but it was taken down soon after it made the rounds online, meaning someone may have jumped the gun on it.
Overwatch Switch Port In The Cards?
Thanks to the gaming tipster Wario64, who revealed his findings on Twitter, images of the Overwatch Switch case in all its glory are still up online. It sports the Overwatch logo and the shooter's characteristic black and orange color scheme. On an interesting note, the zippers are made out to look like mini Joy-Con grips.
The Amazon listing was from PowerA, a video game peripheral maker. For the uninitiated, it also sells official accessories for the Switch. In other words, the Switch case in question could really be a licensed product from Nintendo and Blizzard.
Overwatch On The Switch Isn't Far-Fetched
Back in April 2017, Overwatch game director Jeff Kaplan said that it would be difficult to bring the shooter to the Switch partly because of the hardware limitations of the console, which isn't as powerful as the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Still, he didn't say that it was impossible to do.
Blizzard churning out games for the platform isn't hard to believe either. After all, Diablo III did make its way to the console in the form of Diablo III: Eternal Collection, which includes every paid expansion pack from Reaper of Souls to Rise of the Necromancer.
