MediaTek announced the launch of new chipsets, the Helio G90 and the G90T, which are designed to give players the greatest mobile gaming experience possible.
New Chips For Mobile Gamers
The new G90 series by the Taiwanese company gives mobile gamers fast, ultra-smooth action by combining state-of-the-art CPU and GPU cores with speedy memory and powerful AI performance.
It's also paired with the MediaTek HyperEngine game technology, which has innovative features that boosts the performance even more.
"The mobile gaming market is growing and device makers are looking to give consumers and especially gaming fans the best smartphone game-play experience," TL Lee of MediaTek explained in a news release, adding that this was why they decided to launch the new series. "Our combination of hardware and software delivers high performance, unrivaled image quality, uninterrupted connectivity to always stay in the game, and smooth responsive action even in the most demanding games."
About The New G90, G90T
According to The Verge, the new G90 and G90T are the first system on a chip or SoC in the company's G-Series roster.
The new series is fitted with the Arm Cortex-A76 and A55 cores along with a Mali-G76 that boasts speeds of up to 800MHz. Its powerful CPU, GPU, and APU gives them up to 1TMACs performance, which creates a powerful, smooth game play experience.
Meditek's series comes with up to 10GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 2133MHz memory. The G-Series also supports a 64MP single camera and multi-camera combinations with fantastic picture quality and real-time previews.
The HyperEngine game technology is one of the best features of the series with support for HDR 10 as well as simultaneous dual-band Wi-Fi connection and easy switching from wireless to mobile networks and back again.
MediaTek typically gets their chipsets in budget and midrange phones, while higher end phones opt for processors from their rival Qualcomm. The company's confirmation of the new G-Series chipsets indicate that they are hoping to see their chips in more sophisticated smartphones that are geared toward gamers, such as Asus ROG Phone 2 or Razer Phone 2.
"With the Helio G90 series you get a super fast and responsive display and reduced lag for smoother game play — because every millisecond counts in the game world," Lee said. "Whether it's Fortnite, PUBG or other top titles, this chip is a gaming powerhouse."
