Never underestimate the power of a good mystery.
A Vine clip recorded from television coverage of the 2015 Sugar Bowl has taken the Internet by storm, and it's all because everyone wants to know what this girl is doing. When she's caught on the giant screen stroking the head of the guy beside her, she suddenly pulls back her hand and looks terribly awkward. Why is she so embarrassed?
Vine user "djsourmilk," who originally posted the Vine, labeled it with the words, "When you're at the game with your side dude and realize you're on TV." In other words, he asserts, based on her behavior, that she's cheating on her boyfriend and gets caught on camera. And her guilty expression in the video certainly seems to back that theory up.
After every website under the shining sun posted the video and social media went nuts trying to figure out the story behind it (the Vine has been viewed over 80 million times and counting), the woman in question stepped forward, identifying herself and explaining the real situation. Sugar Bowl Girl is really 23-year-old Kayleigh Lambert, and she's obviously an Ohio State fan. She works as a substitute teacher in Ohio, and attended the game with not her "side dude," but her actual boyfriend, one Colton Mullholland. When he started to sulk after a big play went wrong, she consoled him by massaging his head.
According to the Daily Mail, the awkward moment occurred because Lambert "simply did not know what to do with her hand" when Mulholland proved inconsolable. And that's all there is to it. We now return you to your regularly scheduled surfing. But wait, before you go, you have to watch this. It's the original Vine in reverse, and it's easily five times funnier than the original. Reversing it makes it look like Lambert is wiping a booger in Mulholland's hair!
