Microsoft took the wraps off the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 at the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2019.
The Elite controller has proven to be a popular offering through the years, and now a new version is building on its predecessor in the line with new features, such as thumbsticks with adjustable tension and USB-C support.
Xbox Elite 2
Described as "the world's most advanced controller," the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 has a lot to offer. As mentioned earlier, it sports reengineered components, such as new adjustable tension thumbsticks that can be configured using its bundled thumbstick-adjustment tool for better precision.
On top of that, it also has new trigger grips and redesigned bumpers as well as shorter hair trigger locks so that players can fire faster. Microsoft updated it with a new wrap-around rubberized grip and made its thumbsticks and paddles customizable.
In addition, it can save up to three custom profiles alongside one default profile. Also, it features Bluetooth connectivity, an internal rechargeable battery that's touted to last up to 40 hours on a single charge, and USB-C support.
From the look of things, it's a big update over its predecessor with noteworthy changes, particularly when it comes to customization and connectivity.
Pricing And Availability
Microsoft is already accepting preorders for the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2. It has a $179.99 price tag, and it's scheduled to be available on Nov. 4 in 24 countries.
The next-generation Elite controller has been the subject of plenty of rumors for more than a year, and after months of being nothing more than news taken with a grain of salt, it's now here, and it's real.
