New renders of the Google Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL have leaked, and they give a good, close look at what to expect from the upcoming smartphones.
One source shows the two models in their cases, while another reveals the back and front of the Pixel 3a and its rumored iris purple color option.
Pixel 3a, Pixel 3a XL Renders
Android Headlines got its hands on official renders of both the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL in cases.
The interesting points here are the time and date set. The time is 9:00 on it, and it could be referring to Android 9 Pie. Meanwhile, the date is May 7, and that could be the release date of the devices.
As everyone can see, the two have a headphone jack on top, thick bezels, a volume rocker and power button on the right, a USB-C port on the bottom, and a single front-facing camera. Dual front speakers don't seem to be in the cards as well, which could sit on both sides of the charging port instead.
Pixel 3a Leak In Purple-ish Color
The next set of renders comes from reliable leakster Evan Blass. Just like the ones Android Headlines obtained, it also shows the same wallpaper, time, and date.
The main difference is it's only the Pixel 3a here. That and the lack of a case and a look at the back, which shows the fingerprint reader's position and a flash for the single rear camera, as well. Notably, though, there's also the smartphone in iris purple, corroborating a previous rumor that said there would be one.
Potential Release Date?
Google is expected to take the wraps off the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL on May 7 at its I/O developer conference.
The smartphones are also reportedly coming to T-Mobile, possibly marking the first time the Pixel line becomes available in another carrier besides Verizon.
As for the specs, there's nothing else to go by but rumors and leaks. That said, the Pixel 3a could have a 5.6-inch OLED display (2,220 x 1,080), a Qualcomm Snapdragon 670, 4 GB of RAM, and a 3,000 mAh battery. On the other hand, the XL variant is said to sport a 6-inch display (2,160 x 1,080) and 4 GB of RAM. Both devices will run on Android 9 Pie from the get-go.
