T-Mobile CEO John Legere is best known for his sense of humor. When he is not busy putting coal in his competitors' socks on Vine, he takes digs at AT&T on Twitter and teases some forthcoming announcement.
The fourth largest wireless carrier in the U.S. has tweeted a photo that shows the new year resolutions Legere has made for 2014, while comparing them with the resolutions that were made for 2013.
The photo shows that Legere wanted T-Mobile to "shake up the wireless industry" in 2013, which it did by being the first carrier to stop subsidizing phones and offering quick upgrades, while this year he will be focusing on the "transformation of wireless industry."
Other secondary, yet important resolutions of this year include "Continue to remove customer pain points" and making "4G LTE - go faster, go LOUD". The company recently promised 20x20 MHz LTE network and has been doing an appreciable job in upgrading since then.
Another interesting resolution of Legere reads "Unshackle the family from those other guys." This might hint towards the yet-to-be announced Uncarrier 4.0's focus to family. It is rumored that T-Mobile will be offering to pay new customers up to $350 to help them settle the early termination fees when they quit their existing wireless carriers and join T-Mobile. The announcement is expected to be made in the forthcoming CES, which we guess is indicated by his second last resolution - "make waves at CES 2014."
Not surprisingly, Legere did not forget to take a dig at AT&T, the company's GSM rival. "Give AT&T a break... or not," he wrote as the last resolution for 2014.
In November last year, when one AT&T mobile customer expressed regrets over using AT&T, Legere stepped in and managed to convince him about transferring his services for T-Mobile.
