Pokémon Sword And Pokémon Shield: Quick Summary
Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield will be the first games to introduce a new generation of Pokémon — Generation 8, to be exact — on the Switch, unlike Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu and Pokémon: Let's Go, Eevee. By the same token, they'll also be the first Pokémon games in the main series that'll be playable on a home console, thanks to the Switch's hybrid nature.
The starter Pokémon this time around include the fire type rabbit Scorbunny, the water type lizard Sobble, and the grass type chimp Grookey. The developers haven't shown off their evolutions yet, though.
Now the new games are set in the Galar region, and from the look of things, it's based on Britain. As evidence to that, there's the Victorian architecture as seen in the trailer and something that resembles Big Ben.
Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield are expected to hit the shelves sometime later this year.
