After a series of delays, the much awaited RTS game Wargroove will finally hit the Nintendo Switch, Windows PC, and Xbox One next week.
In its developer blog, Chucklefish stated it is proud to announce that Wargroove will be launched on Feb. 1 for a price of $19.99. The turn-based strategy game will be playable in 10 languages.
"Everyone at Chucklefish is truly humbled by the support we've received throughout the development of Wargroove, and the encouragement to keep going until we were truly happy with the game," the indie game developer wrote in its blog. "We've come to realise that for a game to succeed it can't be anything less than a labour of love."
Pre-Download Available Now
Players can now pre-order and pre-download the game on the Nintendo Switch. Despite that it is not an exclusive Switch title, Wargroove makes a nice addition to the hybrid console's growing indie roster and not just another ported game.
Moreover, Chucklefish invites players to join the development team on its discord server. It said that it will hold livestreams days prior to the launch of Wargroove.
Anime-Style Cinematic Trailer
The release date announcement came with an impressive anime-style cinematic trailer that debuted during Nintendo Indie Highlights Showcase on Thursday, Jan. 24. It showcases a remarkable animation and a closer glimpse at the cast of Commanders.
Check out the cinematic video below:
What To Expect From 'Wargroove'
This real-time strategy game can be played by up to four players who can choose their own commander from a cast 12 plus characters. Each character possesses a unique set of personalities and motivations.
They can select from one of four battling factions in the game: the Cherrystone Kingdom, Heavensong Empire, Felheim Legion, and Floran Tribes.
Players can challenge their friends to skirmish modes with complete rule customization, as well as local and online competitive and co-op play. The game also boasts a Puzzle mode, allowing players to test their strategic skills to finish difficult challenges.
Gamers will also enjoy old-school fun in finding hidden in-game content and unlockables, and other exciting features.
The indie game developer confirmed that Wargroove will also arrive on the PlayStation 4, the release date, however, is yet to be announced.
