Samsung Launches Galaxy Note 4 LTE A, Fastest Download at 300Mbps

The Galaxy Note 4 is no doubt a powerhouse device from Samsung. It boasts a metallic finish, giving it a more premium look and feel than the Note 3. Currently, it is the most powerful device that Samsung has on the market and is meant to stay that way perhaps until the company releases the Galaxy S6 in 2015.

After releasing two major versions of the device, Samsung has now come up with a third version of the Galaxy Note 4, which features three bands, allowing it to reach up to 300Mbps of download speeds. Such speed is purportedly four times faster than the speed of existing 4G LTE service.

The result is unparalleled multimedia experience brought by faster web browsing and downloads. It also allows one to stream content at a faster rate and gain better access to applications which are otherwise data intensive.

"We continue to set new challenges for the industry and push boundaries to take mobile technology to the next level and deliver the best possible customer experience," said JK Shin, president and CEO of Samsung Electronics' IT & mobile communications division.

The Galaxy Note 4 is designed to receive three unique frequency bands aggregated to create a single connection. This means that it supports Category 6 network service and is therefore capable of reaching speeds of up to 300 Mbps. Users can easily download 10 songs worth 40MB in just one second or a 700MB video in a mere 19 seconds.

Since mobile and telecommunications technologies are constantly evolving, the LTE-A Tri-Band CA Galaxy Note 4 will eventually become LTE-A Category 9 service-ready. When that happens, it will have download speeds of up to 450 Mbps. It is expected to be commercialized in the latter part of 2015.

Currently, there are only a few markets that have the needed infrastructure to allow such connectivity speeds. Moreover, the new LTE-A version of the Galaxy Note 4 is said to be limited to South Korea with a release scheduled in January.

So far, the only change that one can expect from the new Galaxy Note 4 version is its LTE speed. The other features such as the QuadHD Super AMOLED display of 5.7 inches, RAM of 3GB, camera of 16MP, S Pen, and others remain the same.
