A Google Pixel 3 XL unboxing video and a series of pictures from a Telegram user in Ukraine revealed more details about the highly anticipated Android smartphone.
The Pixel 3 XL, as well as its smaller Pixel 3 counterpart, are expected to be unveiled by Google in early October, based on the schedules of their predecessors. With two months to go, will there be anything about the devices that will not have leaked by then?
Google Pixel 3 XL: Notch And Wired Pixel Buds Included
A Ukrainian tech blogger shared on his Telegram channel a quick unboxing video and several photos of what he claimed to be a "pre-release version" of the Google Pixel 3 XL, without disclosing where he acquired the device. Another user pointed out that the camera icon of the smartphone has the dogfood notation, which could mean that the Pixel 3 XL belongs or once belonged to a Google employee who was testing it out.
In any case, arguably the first thing that users will notice about the Google Pixel 3 XL is its notch. While the Pixel 3 XL notch has already been confirmed, it appears that the display feature extends further into the display compared to other nearly bezel-less smartphones such as rival Apple's iPhone X.
Another important detail that can be taken from the leaked video and images that the Pixel 3 XL, and likely also the Pixel 3, will come with what looks like wired Pixel Buds with a USB-C connector. There were rumors that the Pixel 2 will come with USB-C headphones, but that did not happen, as Google only included a USB-C to 3.5mm dongle.
Google selling the Pixel 3 smartphones with their own USB-C headphones will be a great boon for users, who have suffered from the poor choices for the accessory in the market.
What Else Do We Know About The Pixel 3?
Users already have a good idea of what the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL look like from various leaks, including the CAD-based renders from OnLeaks. The Pixel 3 XL notch was not a surprise, but its size might turn away potential customers.
Recent Pixel 3 leaks, in addition to showing more pictures of the Android smartphone's Clearly White variant, also revealed that Google may be working on a Pixel Stand, which will essentially transform the Pixel 3 into a smart speaker. The smartphone may also be getting wireless charging features, which the Pixel Stand may enable.
