2018 iPhone Leaks: Here's Our First Look At The iPhone X Plus And Budget iPhone X

New leaked pictures of upcoming 2018 iPhone models surfaced over the weekend, giving Apple fans their first look at what have been called the iPhone X Plus and the budget iPhone X.

Apple is expected to unveil three iPhones in September, specifically an upgraded iPhone X, a larger iPhone X, and a cheaper iPhone X.

iPhone X Plus, Budget iPhone X Dummy Units

Infamous leaker Benjamin Geskin recently uploaded to Twitter a series of pictures that allegedly show dummy units of the 6.5-inch iPhone X Plus with an OLED display and the 6.1-inch budget iPhone X with an LCD display.

The leaked images, if legitimate, reveal that the design of the 2018 iPhones look very similar to the current iPhone X. The iPhone X Plus, which is in white and comes with dual rear cameras, may be mistaken for the iPhone X, if not for its larger size. The black budget iPhone X, meanwhile, carries the noticeable difference of carrying a single-camera setup at the back.

Not shown in the images is the 5.8-inch iPhone X successor, which is largely expected to feature an under-the-hood upgrade to the current iPhone X, with no major design changes.

Dummy units usually do not reveal much about upcoming smartphones, as they are empty shells that were created based on rumors and schematics of future devices. It should be noted though that Geskin revealed a dummy model of what turned out to be the iPhone X in May 2017, and it was pretty close to the smartphone's actual design.

More 2018 iPhone Rumors

According to previous rumors, Apple is planning to launch the 2018 iPhone models with new color options. The iPhone X Plus, as well as the iPhone X 2, is believed to come in black, white, and gold. Meanwhile, the budget iPhone X will reportedly launch in gray, blue, red, white, and orange.

The 6.1-inch LCD iPhone, however, arguably remains the most interesting model among the three. Apple is said to have planned cheaper iPhones with LCD screens to meet the needs of its customers, with the more expensive OLED displays save for the high-end iPhone X 2 and iPhone X Plus.

There are even rumors that there will be two budget iPhones this year. One version, which will be priced at $650 to $750, will come with dual-SIM support, while the other version, which will be priced at $550 to $650, will only be able to support one SIM card.
