DC's 'Birds Of Prey', Starring Margot Robbie, Will Begin Production In 2019

The next DC film to begin production after Woman Wonder 1984 could be Birds of Prey. The film will feature Margot Robbie, who will be reprising her role as Harley Quinn from the previous DC film, The Suicide Squad.

Birds Of Prey

Robbie confirmed that the production for Birds of Prey will begin in January 2019. Cathy Yan is in talks to direct the film, while Christina Hodson has written the script for the film. Currently, DC and Warner Bros. Studios are looking for locations to film the upcoming action film, with Atlanta, Georgia or Los Angeles, California in mind.

In addition, the character line-up for the DC film will also feature Huntress, Batgirl, and Canary. However, there hasn't been any confirmation as to who will play these female characters.

In 2002, the CW network released a television series loosely based on the DC Comics which starred, Ashley Scott as Huntress, Dina Meyer as the Oracle, and Mia Sara as Harley Quinn. In this version, the series picked is set in Gotham City several years after Batman abandoned it and is now protected by Huntress, who is the biological daughter of Batman and Catwoman.

There hasn't been any confirmation yet as to how the storyline will be presented in the upcoming film.

Future DC Flims

The next DC film to hit theaters will be the standalone film, Aquaman, starring Jason Momoa as the titular character, and Amber Heard as Mera. The film will follow the events of Justice League and show Aquaman struggling to take his rightful place as king of Atlantis.

Following Aquaman, the next film from the DC Extended Universe to premiere in theaters will be Shazam!, which is set to be released in April 2019.

The film will star Asher Angel and Zachary Levi as Shazam, and Mark Strong as Dr. Thaddeus Sivana.

The sequel to the Wonder Woman film, WW1984, will hit the theaters in November 2019 and will follow Diana Prince/Wonder Woman coming into conflict with the Cold War and facing a new enemy.

Gal Gadot will reprise her role as Wonder Woman and Chris Pine return as Steve Trevor. Actress Kristen Wiig has been confirmed to play Wonder Woman's archnemesis, Cheetah.
