Last month, Google announced that it will be adding three new Android smartphones to its portfolio, namely the LG's V35 ThinQ, G7 ThinQ, and the Moto G6.
The Moto G6 went up for preorder that very same day, but users interested in the G7 and V35 were told to wait until "next month." The two LG flagship devices are now finally available for preorder on Google's own mobile network Project Fi.
On Tuesday, June 19, the carrier announced on Twitter that ustomers can now preorder both high-end LG models on Project Fi.
LG G7 ThinQ
Project Fi has set a $749 price tag or $31.21/month for 24 months for the G7 ThinQ. The smartphone is available in two color options, Aurora Black and Matte Blue.
If customers preorder the handset, they also get an additional $100 service credit, which effectively brings its price down to $649. However, it is a time-limited offer that expires on July 7.
To avail the credit, customers need to activate the phone on Project Fi within 30 days of its shipment. They must keep the phone active for 30 consecutive days within 60 days of its shipment.
This is still a pretty good deal for a brand-new high-end smartphone. However, if consumers would like to check what the other carriers are offering, the G7 ThinQ is also available on Verizon, T-Mobile, and Sprint.
LG V35 ThinQ
Project Fi is asking for $899 or $37.46/month for 24 months for the V35 ThinQ. The model comes in Aurora Black and Platinum Grey. Even though Project Fi is offering the same $100 service credit on preorders, it is still too expensive compared to the deal that AT&T is offering on the premium smartphone.
As part of its Father's Day promotion, AT&T was offering a "Buy One, Get One" or BOGO deal on the flagship LG handset. It means that the Project Fi and AT&T-exclusive device was effectively available for $450 a pop.
Project Fi
With the addition of the two LG models and the Moto G6, the Google-owned carrier will have a total of six smartphones on offer, as it is already selling the Google Pixel 2, Google Pixel 2 XL, and the Motorola Moto X4.
Although Project Fi depends on LTE ( from T-Mobile, Spring, and US Cellular) and Wi-Fi hotspots to provide voice calls and data services, It offers an unlimited plan at $80 a month, and customers can even use data for free when international roaming is activated.
